NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM

Nov., 12th

Our next stop was to Cave City, KY to visit the Mammoth Cave National Park. We first went back to Bowling Green to visit the national Corvette Museum. You might remember that back in Feb, a huge sinkhole opened up in the Museum Sky Dome.  Eight cars went in the 40 ft hole. A few were able to be restored but most were totalled.

The hole was behind this large red obelisk. You can see the hole to the right.

View from a distance. This is as close as the public can get

Poor corvettes!

This 1st picture is what this looked liked before the sinkhole

After the sinkhole. Wouldn't recognise it

Denny's favorite, a 1962 corvette convertible

1986 Concept car that was never built.  Notice the wing doors

First corvette 1953.  Styling is completely different. They only used this style for 2 years.

Very interesting place, we both enjoyed it, plus there was a geocache on the outside grounds
