STATUES

Sept 8th

Traveling from Medora to Jamestown ND, there were several larger than life statues that we saw. I guess they are all over North Dakota but these are the only ones we saw.

This is the  World  largest Buffalo in Jamestown.  When the freeway was being built, the mayor thought they needed a reason for people to go off the highway. He thought of the Paul Bunyan  and Blue Ox statue so he built the buffalo.  It is 26' high and 14' wide.  It weighs 60 tons and is atomically correct.

This is Salem Sue,  the largest Holstein Cow. She is 38' high,  50' long and made of fiberglass. She was built in 1974 for $40,000

The largest Crane is 40' high.  No other info

Makes  your travels more interesting when you can find things like these along the road.

We stayed in Jamestown.  I had to take a picture of this roof on a  building  in the campground. Pretty steep, Denny can't imagine putting the roof on.  This is the first campground that we have stayed in that we saw police.  They stopped by 3 times that night, even talked to us about if we had seen the person who owned a truck.  The next day, the police were back talking to someone in the trailer 3 spaces down. Lots of oil pipeline people, glad we only stayed one night
